Tom Coughlin served as the Jaguars head coach from 1995 to 2002. In eight seasons as the head coach, Coughlin complied a 68-60 leading the team to the playoffs in four straight seasons from 1996 to 1999. In 1996, Coughlin lead the second year expansion franchise to the AFC championship game losing to the New England Patriots. In 1999 Coughlin and the Jags went 14-2 in the regular season, losing the AFC championship game to the Tennessee Titans. Former Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver called firing Coughlin one of the biggest mistakes during his tenure owning the Jaguars. Weaver sold the team to Shahid Khan in November 2011. After being fired by the Jags, Coughlin was hired by the New York Giants, serving as their head coach for 12 seasons from 2004 to 2015. During Coughlins tenure running the Giants, he had a record of 102-90, including two Super Bowl victories over the New England Patriots. However, Coughlins tenure as Giants head coach ended after three straight losing seasons.
